JH Sayyar's Sonnets

297
Who are you O Fair? What do you want?
Come to see me in the dead hour of night,
In my orchard, over my head why you haunt
Yea! Not in the full moon, but in the dim light,
Yea! Tell me what is your purpose to come in?
A beautiful white, red, greed and golden dress
To make me frighten or my poor heart to win;
With lovely grace on the shoulder hanging tress,
Why do you not talk to me in darkness, speak?
Yea! Her silence has in heart something new,
To me to say but her night behavior too meek
As on the red rose in moon light evening dew,

O Fair! Soul goes up and body remains here
But to make soul happy intention must be fair
