JH Sayyar's Sonnets

As in December winter leaves hanging on the trees,
All boughs covered with snow facing too much load,
Same my heart full of woe when you go my eye sees,
My dying wishes fall like leaves, come and behold.
Like yellow leaves your memory stale in my brain,
No green leaves of wish appears on my love bough
Me seems your being is useless on earth and in vain,
No fresh seed of new love in my poor heart I grow,
Look into my eyes you will find a dim reflection
Of your love dying slowly no power to sustain,
In future thus ceases my most mortal reaction,
Of my immortal pen but now power to maintain

Your youth memories make my poor love strong,
Your old age love I do forget O Lady ere long.
