JH Sayyar's Sonnets

290
Who are you, O Stranger? Why do you not?
Calls me “My sweet love,” and the light cool air
And the gleeful waves and happy and full hot,
Who calls me? I know no one is standing there,
But I think Jessica’s sweet voice was calling me,
But when I see turning face there was none
Near me, peace full waves all free of worry,
I do not know O Lady why you from me shun,
Come to console and my upset mournful mind,
Crying like babe all alone at the river bank,
Come sweet love, your merciful and more kind,
If you come I shall give you a sweet, sweet thank.

The waves, the flowers both are happy there,
But I am more sad, though the weather fair.
