JH Sayyar's Sonnets

122
Sweet love breath full of healing power,
But I reject it with forceful arguments,
Your heart void of love like a hollow tower,
Remains of the olden time’s monuments
Conscious without love nothing but dreck,
As eyes without lights just are holes,
Sucks water from bottom the ship is wreck
Love in selfish world walking on coal.
You promise to love but turn it down,
As the rich chide beggars at the door,
Or as the rich lady throws a tattered gown,
Or as the poor rejected by a liar whore

Greedy loves die soon on earth O Fair,
False loves more but true loves are rare.
